Default Talk about a weird Fern...

This is called a Myers Fern by locals in So.California.
Some call it an Asparagus or Foxtail Fern......Whatever
I've never seen them anywhere else.
I love it for its weirdness.
Bob

It isn't a fern, it's a flowering plant, Asparagus densiflorus 'Meyers'

That's why I hedged my bet by saying that "it is called a Myers Fern by
the locals.....
Some call it an Asparagus or Foxtail Fern.........Whatever" ;-)
Google also accepts the term FERN.

I don't know much about the botanical properties of plants. That's my
wife's domain.
I just shoot them. That's my domain.
You have been a big help on many of my flower ID requests and I thank
you for your interest and assistance.

You'll really love it when it starts growing all over and you try to
get rid of it. Until then, enjoy.

If you need a cast iron large groundcover in a place it can't escape
from it and var 'Sprengeri' are hard to beat
Around the Monterey CA area Sprengeri sometimes spreads by seed but not
Meyeri. ymmv

They are both great in large pots. Divide when they threaten to break
the pot

I have Asparagus setaceus growing all over. it is spreading from
seeds. I've dug up the area where the main plants were, but it comes
up all over the place.

Spoke with a nurseryman about it a few weeks ago, he said there was a
kind of poison that would kill it, but that it had been taken off the
market as explosives could be made from it.

I have a Tradescantia of some type, it made a good ground cover, until
I decided I didn't want to give over the whole garden to it. Not sure
what kind it is, I looked at Google images but didn't see any close
enough to say "that's it."
