These are some photos I took yesterday at Exbury Gardens near Southampton,

Although I'm not a lover of rhododendron (because of their invasiveness and lack of hospitality to other life) I remember well the glorious scent of an azalea on the Two Sisters' Lawn at Hever Castle, right next to where we used to camp every May. Then yesterday I saw a small, exquisitely vibrant red bush in a friends' garden and he said it was an azalea. So perhaps they're not all bad :-) Mary |
