Can I grow my plants in just sand? Don't I need some kind of soil??
Yes, that is all you need. Make sure it is aquarium safe and remember to feed your plants. It is all about balance really. Fish waste is good for the plants and the plants are good for the fish. As a beginner just stay away from the more pricy substrates until you have a bit more experience. Than when you are ready for more, there are folks in here that can give you tips on lighting and CO2 and the other stuff involved. Vicki |
