Plants that will not put out Roots everywhere
Could someone suggest me some plants that will not put out root everywhere.
For example my Hygro sends roots everywhere. There roots sometime look like algae strands. And I know most of the swords will not send visible roots. -- Thank You Dominic http://www.dlink.org/aqua |

Hygrophila is among the "rootiest" of stem plants. You might have better luck with babytears, Rotala, Ludwigia, Bacopa, or Didiplis diandra. Some of these do produce occasionaly roots, but not anything like Hygro. Leigh http://www.fortunecity.com/lavender/halloween/881/ |

You might have better luck with babytears, Rotala Must be tank conditions. Before I got rid of it, Baby tears grew from 6 stems to a football-sized mass in less than 6 weeks, sucked all the nitrate out of the tank, and grew short roots from NEARLY EVERY NODE. My Rotala macaranda (spelling?) drops long bushy roots every 3-6 inches. |

I don't think I've ever seen node roots on my babytears. Though it certainly does grow fast. Pondpenny, now...that has a ton of roots. It's worse than the Hygro.
