Horrid we have a very strong tornado during 20 minutes with
wind over 100 mph and hail I could put in safety the bigger ones.. but a trident maple a prunus mume has been badly defoliated and many branches and twig broken as well a seigen that had a very hard time to put back some leaves after a half defoliation ...... a pentaphilla very small had most of his o new needles taken away:-( or broken twigs it had a real hard time to struggle for life after a tought repotting on rock . well Nature did his trimming and defoliating .. I guess all the injured littles ones will survive and will put leaves back and will have more wabi and sabi added by the touch of elements |

We kinda expect that kind of weather here in the Thunderstoem Capital of the World, but Geneva!? All you can do is look at it as a "challenge" and see how Mother Nature's restyling can become better bonsai. Take care. Glad you and yours survived it all. yes but we are in a building less risky but very unusual for theh climate here , a whole copper roof of 2 tons has been dismantled and hunged to a balcony... terrific .. they needed a crane to remove it happened just 300 meter avay from my apt The trees will survive or not for that is the way of things. Mine survived a much less event ( major winds and 1-2" hail) with some interesting natural pruning the Prunus has been badly injured a lot of twigs broken , and it had just made leaves after a dofoliation .. so much energy spent for nothing ( the prunus) a maple shattered even a twig that was wired ... incredible and defoiation...all survived and are doing fine....some took a number of years. Keep growing Pauline correct we have to keep confident in future will give some extra fertilizer for winther and will have hopefully more new buds next year ! |
