Most do NOT print Sunday as the last day of the week. Most are in
the standard Sunday through Saturday format, eg the Takagi-NBF calendar, Yamaguchi Bonsai Nursery calendar, etc. Alan Walker http://bonsai-bci.com http://LCBSBonsai.org -----Original Message----- From: Most are printed in Japan, but the numbers are the same. Several bonsai nurseries and magazines have them. I've seen them, & occasionally somebody gives me one. My objections: They have lovely pictures of masterpiece bonsai, but the description is in Japanese, & I don't even know what kind of a tree it is. They use the European system of Sunday as the last day of the week. I like to use a calendar for quick reference, without trying to figure out which month & day I am looking at. Bonsai pictures are nice, but if I hang a calendar on the wall, I want to be able to use it as a calendar. If interested, try looking for bonsai calendars which have been printed for
US sellers. They are relatively inexpensive and use calendar conventions familiar enough to use as a quick reference. Some even list the days of the week in English. Billy mentioned bonsaimonk.com, but I've seen similar ones offered by IBS and others. Holidays are usually in Japanese, as are the brief descriptions of the trees. The characters for different species are recognizable with a little practice. I recommend it, it makes these lovely calendars even more enjoyable! -Wendy Ohio, Zone 5b/6a -----Original Message----- From: Most are printed in Japan, but the numbers are the same. The wall calendar I get from BonsaiToday.com every year has a July pic of a whimsical windswept grove of what look to be white pines, and an even-more-whimsical, stork-like pine of (I think) the same species. Sunday is where it belongs, and the month and days of the week are in English. Couldn't do without mine -- and I too will miss the Takagai desk calendar - postcards.
