I have the common dwarf myrtle, M. communis 'Compacta,' with dark green
narrow pointed leaves, pronounced dwarf habit, foliage somewhat pungent when pinched. I also have a young plant I received from Forestfarm as dwarf myrtle. The leaves are about the same size, a slightly lighter shade of green, more oval & less pointed. Growth is dwarfish, but perhaps not quite as dense. Most notably, crushed leaves have a very intense distinct scent of lavender. Does anybody know the correct name of this cultivar?
