[IBC] Flowering Plum Bonsai tree question.
Kevin: You're coddling your flowering plum to death! This tree loves to be
out in the cold and should have lost its leaves months ago. However, since you've been keeping it indoors, it would be too much of a shock to put it outside now. Keep it in to coolest place in the house ( an unheated garage would be even better), and turn off the light! I am new to bonsai and for Christmas I received my first, of hopefully many bonsai trees. It is a Flowering Plum Bonsai. I live in central NY, if that helps. My 1st question where is a good place to find info on this tree? I have looked and have not found much. My 2nd question is alot of the leaves on the tree have wilted (I have been watering it). I have it under a growing light also. Does this tree go dormant in the winter? If not what should I do to help my tree?
