![]() "John NJ" wrote in message ... If anyone has the Lenz book and would like to sell it please contact me privately. Let's get some info on the table before folks go crazy about this excellent book, Bonsai From The Wild by Nick Lenz.. It is 120 pages, including 30 pages of color illustrations, and discusses trees that are found predominantly in the Northeastern US. It was published primarily in soft cover (at, as I recall $17.50) and a hardcover, slip-cased and limited signed edition for $50.00. As I have mentioned earlier, I have seen a sofbound copy go for $75 on eBay. The following trees have chapters 1-16 pages in length. Larch, White Cedar, Field Juniper (j communis), Rocky Mountain Juniper, Pitch Pine, Wild Apple, Hawthorn, Honeysuckle, Blueberry, Eastern Red Cedar, and Ponderosa Pine. In addition, under "Miscellanea" there are notes, generally of less than a page on the following species: Buckthorn, Leatherwood, Bearberry, Hemlock, White Pine, Bittersweet Vine, Boston Ivy, Wild Grape Poison Ivy, Beech, Hornbeam, and Birch. I would suggest the best approach would be to determine which of these trees you wished the information on, and then check with your club to see if a copy can be borrowed to get the info you need on that species. Getting into a bidding war for, say, 10 pages of information simply does not make sense. Regards, Bart |
