Too much or too little water?
I have a bougainvillea plant currently growing in a pot in a sunny
position. From reading the about the plant, I know it requires very little water. I have been watering it twice a week. The leaves are now beginning to droop but not quite wilting yet. So have I been watering too much, or too little? Or is it deficient in minerals, and therefore maybe I should feed it with some fertilizer? Please help with any suggestions .... |

-- G'day Scott, Place a saucer under the pot, and refill it as required (check it daily). Pots in the sun dry out very quickly. When established in the ground they can be very tough, but in a pot they can be very vulnerable. Also try placing it in a more protected spot, especially from wind, and it really only needs a few hours of direct sun. China Wingham NSW |

I just checked my plant encyclopedia and it states to "water freely", whatever you can make of that? We have some at work, in quite clay soil that are doing well, never get watered except for rain, however the clay is always moist. Perhaps try watering a little more often, say every 2 days, and a deep watering. Of course change according to rain and temperature, but if recent temps are anything to go by, then every 2 days. Good luck |

Too much or too little water?
Thanks China for the advice.
I've been watering the plant from the saucer every day and it seem to be better. I water in the morning, and when I come home from work the plate is dried, so I know that at least I'm not over watering. I might switch to watering every second day and see what happens.
