Default Orchid Problem

In article ,
says...
they also have chlorophyll in their roots,
indeed there are some orchids that don't actually have leaves, just roots .

That explains why, when I stand them in water for a
short while, the roots turn from a sivery grey green
to quite a strong green colour. Always been fascinated
by that, and use it as an indication of needing water
- when I can not see anu green roots at all!
