If you want to collect seed then the trick is to do it at the right
time - watch for the pods turning grey and then for the slightest sign
of the pods starting to split. That's the time to collect seed. It's
tricky I know but if you harvest too soon, the seed won't be viable
and it won't stand a chance of becoming viable.

Incidentally, I've been told that young radish pods are edible and can
be added to salads though I've never tried that.
