Default Anchoring Driftwood

I had a piece of driftwood in my tank held down by rocks for several months
before it finally sucked up enough water to stay submerged on its own.

I would also boil the wood for a couple of hours, this allows water to
thouroughly saturate the wood (also takes out some of the tanins) and it
will sink much easier...

Quite a while sometimes. Get a piece of slate, drill it and stick
a STAINLESS STEEL screw in there to attach it.

You can also drill the screw holes, fill them with aquarium silicone,

and
use plastic screws. Just FY if metal in your tank gives you the willies.
