Default Peeing in the compost

It is a well known fact that urine is a good accelerator for the compost
heap and following quadruple heart by-pass surgery, I have been using a
bottle overnight and this has been duly sprinkled on the heap.
This raises some questions from me ;
1) How does it work?
2) What about the worms already in the heap?
and
3) What effect will the medication I am on be to the heap? (I would imagine
that theoretically the drugs would have been absorbed by the body).

Looking forward to some interesting answers.

Mike
