Another tip for keeping hostas in pots snail and slug free is to keep
the pots standing in saucers of water and as previously suggested,
don't let the leaves touch other plants.
This is less messy than Vaseline and the "moat" of water prevents the
beasts getting to the pots. The hostas like the dampness too.
Just never lat the moats dry up!
