We use a toilet valve to regulate the level. No hassle. You can see it

Probably _most_ ponders don't do that, though. I think it's a fine idea -
but I'm on a well. If you're on city water, and you have a genuine _leak_,
you could end up making the fish swim in chlorinated water.

Our pump plugs in a normal 110 outlet. Has GFI.
I think hardwired pumps are not even legal in the US and Canada, but I could
be wrong.
3) Are the pumps on circuit breakers, or fault detection devices.
Both. Always.

4) Are pumps 120 volt or 220 volts
