I guess grass would work but then there's mowing. Every week, I'd have
to drive off, find parking, walk home, mow, walk back to the car and
drive home again :-(

I have sandy, free draining slightly alkaline soil.

Oh, those are lovely, Charlie. I used to have them and they spread
themselves all over the place. I'd quite forgotten about them and must now
find some!
