Default Making Salad in my pond

OK, now I KNOW I'm a bit too obsessive about my ponds! I stopped into a
grocery store tonight (I hate grocery stores!) just to see if I could find
some watercress for my pond. Well, this is the second grocery store that
didn't have any. As I was turning my disappointed self away from the fresh
vegetables, some scallions caught my eye. Actually the ROOTS of the
scallion caught my eye, as they looked like they'd make great water plants
for filtration. I grabbed two big bunches of scallions, and then saw
something called Arugula that also had great roots. And then I saw
Horseradish root..... wow - what great roots! But I resisted and put that
back down.... it was really an ugly thing. On the way home I had to pass a
different grocery store, and couldn't resist checking, and they had
watercress! So when I got home and hubby came out to help me carry in the
bags, he saw all the different green veggies and said "wow, you're gonna
make one heck of a salad this weekend, huh?" I laughed and said "Yeah,
sure, right. Those aren't vegetables, those are pond plants!" He rolled
his eyes with that "oh my, she's really lost it this time" look and off he
went. So, has anyone else ever grown scallions or Arugula in their ponds?
