The one on the left is a ladybird lavae and is therefore a good thing,
the right hand ones look like Ladybird Pupae the next stage, so you will
soon have lots of new ladybirds!
Lucly you, as Charlie said all lady birds, they will helpkeep your vines
clear.
A biologist friend has suggested that they are harlequin ladybirds, so I am now a bit unsure how I should view them.
I think your friend is right. However it looks as though they aren't the
threat we thought they were - and they are still good for eating greenfly.
If your friend is a professional entomologist they'll know better than me.
